Calamari, cauliflower soup, octopus apps!! Branzino and tuna tartar entrees. Sweet potato dessert and pear dessert!! Sunday dinner deal for $40 app entree and dessert. Go!!
I came here with my daughter about a week ago,my only complaint is that with a reservation they sat us in a cramped table right next to the front door, besides that I have to say the food and service are excellent , we both had the branzino and shared asparagus and Brussels sprouts , the branzino was probably the juiciest and most flavorful I bad ever eaten and the vegetables were excellent as well , hopefully next time we will be seated further back or upstairs
So during my NY trip, my buddy wanted to hit up a seafood joint on the last evening. Making last minute reservations (aka the night before) for dinner in NYC on a Saturday evening- you can imagine the "hot" places were near impossible to get in. I looked on OpenTable to see what was feasible, and I saw midtown location of Crave Fishbar had an opening. We were seated promptly after showing up for reservation.  I got a notification from OpenTable that I was a no-show the next day, which did irk me (because if you have a number of these, you can have your account locked. This was resolved quickly through OpenTable though). We were led upstairs to the second floor. The theme here is nautical, kind of Hamptons-esque, a fresh breath of air in Manhattan. We were given choice out of a few two-tops. We were greeted and asked for water preference immediate. Our server was warm and non-pretentious. He was patient as it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to order. We started with Rice Dusted Point Judith Calamari. For entree, I chose Seared Rare Yellowfin Tuna. The appetizer was good. The calamari was not rubbery. It had a ubiquitous asian twist with Thai miso sauce which worked very well. I would recommend this app. Move on to entree, l ordered the yellowfin tuna. It was seared properly. My biggest problem with this dish is that the tuna was COMPLETELY overpowered taste-wise. The menu describes the dish with coriander adobo, Mexican corn, smashed fingerling potatoes, queso fresco, pickled onion, and guajillo salsa. The guajillo salsa is what I think was the culprit. Totally masked an excellent piece of fish. It just didn't match. Overall it was an ok meal, I just don't know If I would go out of my way to eat here again. Overall rating would be a 3.5/5. Ambience- 4/5 Service- 4/5 Price- $$$ Food- 3/5
