Best food we had in Rome. My boyfriend lived in Trastevere for 3 years, so knows the area well - he'd never heard of Trattoria Da Teo, until I showed him a Conde Nast article about the restaurant. The night before, we had eaten in Taverna Trilussa, a well-know restaurant in Trastevere, and thought Trattoria Da Teo was better. The food was exceptional - traditional antipasti and pasta dishes, all packed full of flavour. Our waiter, who has worked at Trattoria Da Teo for 26 years, was fantastic at his job. He was attentive, funny and gave some excellent food recommendations - he really knew his stuff! The restaurant itself felt very local, most diners were Italian. We loved the place so much, we asked whether it was possible to hire the restaurant privately for a pre-wedding event - we were told it's not possible to totally close the place, so the locals could always eat (which we thought was special!). I'll be recommending this gem of a restaurant to any friend that comes to Rome in the future. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €70–80
