This place is fantastic. And the way they have only 4 selections to try for the day was great too because it gets trying new things. This place is a must do.On a side note we were there on the morning of the 24th Dec and the lady that served us was great. Friendly, funny and great personality. Knows her stuff and is very good at her job. Great place
Awesome ice-cream only the bathroom is from 1950s maybe.
Visiting This place was a strange experience. The choice for ice cream consisted of JUST a tasting cup of 4 flavours of ice cream (at $7.50), only one which we had even heard of (mango) and the others my wife was probably allergic to (we'd never heard of the other weird flavours/fruits/ingredients and we weren't going to just chance it in the middle of a rainforest). According to the ladies at the counter they "make them up in the morning so there's no choice in what you get." So no mixy-matchy of the only available 4 flavours either, they just take out ready made cups from the freezer and sell them. The ONLY other choices on the so-called menu are 2 ice lollies and 2 sorbet cups, NO other ice cream choices - i have to remind you this is the so-called Daintree ICE CREAM company, you think they'd do ICE CREAM and LOTS of it with LOTS of choices. Instead as a customer you're forced to eat the only thing they're selling and if you don't want/like the other random flavours they've thrown in that day, then too bad buddy! I imagine an ice cream company has freezers right? And as the fruits ripen in the orchard you'd imagine they'd make up the ice cream and keep/sell it via/using the aforementioned freezers? Nope. I normally would not recommend this place but considering how awful our experience was at floraville (down the Rd from this place), at least here the setting is nicer and the ladies will actually talk to you and explain their bewildering sales technique to you. After ordering an ice lolly we made a point of sitting and watching other customers enquire at the counter too and our verdict is that every other person who comes here are just as dumbfounded when this bizzare option is placed before them. One couple just left, 2 other families ordered one ice cream cup to share each and a couple of older guys just bought some water. I watched as most people just ignored, and then threw away the strange ice-cream flavours enforced upon them. Bottom line: Don't bother with ice cream in the Daintree. It's embarrassing.
