This establishment has been around for many years and is most known for its pancakes, windmill, and the lovely bakery downstairs, De Bakkery. The fare is simple, with Dutch variations inspired by the story of the windmill and the owner's travels in Holland's windmill country. A personal breakfast favourite is the Uitsmijter, while the pancakes are tasty and worth the drive, especially the Dutch Apple. The baked goods come from De Bakkery and are well worth it. Poffertjies, Kroketten, and Dutch sugar biscuits are all great. The texture of the meat filling for the Kroketten is not for everyone, so try one first! It's a cute little gem with a fun story. Take the kids on a Saturday morning, and be sure to make time to visit De Bakkery downstairs! Vegetarian options: Some options for vegetarian, although I don't think anything on the menu will be vegan. Parking: Parking lot behind the Edenvale strip, as well as steer parking along the strip (less of a sure thing) Kid-friendliness: Outside seating on the balcony, with a kids menu. I have been a couple of times at the De Molen and received good service. Today was not one of those days. We ordered our drinks when we sat down. When the drinks arrives we ordered our eats and one of the items was the Custard Slice. After 20 minutes the waitress came to inform us that there is no Custard Slices left downstairs in the shop. We then ordered a toasted sandwich. After waiting a further 10 minutes our order still did not arrived. I went to the waitress and told her to cancel my order seeing that we are waiting quite a bit for it and said to print the bill for our coffees. She proceeded with processing the bill without apologizing for the delay. I asked for the manager and informed her of the poor service delivery to which apologized immediately. She also mentioned that they were quite busy although when we walked in there was a couple sitting inside and 3 people outside. The manager instructed the waitress to apologize for the bad services, which then did. When I was about to pay for the coffees the manager said that I do not have to pay although I insisted on it. I will still go back, thanks to manager and her efforts to rectify the poor service delivery. I would like to suggest that a printer bet installed downstairs in the bakery and linked to your POS for them to inform that items ordered from them is available or not. Service: 1
