For a $250 birthday dinner, we expected a lot more than what felt like a disorganized experiment. The restaurant told us they were “trying something new,” which apparently meant giving us two waiters. Instead of better service, it was just confusing. They seemed to compete for the table, and when dessert arrived they even gave us two different explanations of what it was. The food didn’t help. The burrata starter was shockingly sweet and served on four plain pieces of toast. My steak came “Dean style” with a lobster add-on that cost extra, yet the lobster portion was comically small. Steak itself was the right temp, however instead of a nice crust, it was charred to the point of ruining the flavor. My girlfriend added shrimp to her pasta for $14, and they arrived burnt and fishy. The $17 broccoli was undercooked and crunchy with almost no flavor. They also dropped off a random dish of lobster butter without explaining what it was while the food was being delivered in a confusing rush. By the time the giant baked potato arrived (which actually looked good), we were so turned off we just took it home. Overall, for the price we expected much better food and far less dysfunction. Probably won’t be going back. Meal type: Dinner Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your birthday dinner with us did not meet expectations. A celebration like that should feel seamless and special, and it’s disappointing to know that your experience felt confusing and fell short of the standard we aim to provide. We appreciate you bringing several points to our attention, particularly regarding the service coordination and the preparation of some of the dishes you mentioned. That’s certainly not the level of execution we strive for, and your comments will be shared with our culinary and service teams so we can review the experience internally and address these concerns. We’re grateful you gave us the opportunity to be part of your evening, and we would appreciate the chance to learn more about your visit. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us directly and ask to speak with a manager so we can follow up with you personally. Thank you again for your honest feedback.

We booked Dean's Italian Steakhouse a month ahead for a special dinner, anticipating a truly high-end experience based on the restaurant's reputation. Unfortunately, the evening was a total disappointment and the meal felt incredibly overpriced for the poor quality and execution we received. The service was immediately poor. Despite having two servers for our party of ten, our initial specialty drink order of four cocktails was completely forgotten. This was followed by a major flaw in the food: every single steak we ordered was cooked incorrectly. Three were sent back, but the others in our party chose to eat their improperly cooked meals rather than wait further. Incredibly, the three returned steaks came back wrong a second time. The most frustrating part was the notable apathy from the service team regarding the compounding issues. No one seemed concerned until a member of our party sought out the manager. When we were finally ready to leave, the service changed dramatically—forgotten drinks showed up and desserts were offered. While we appreciate the effort, this reactive attempt at recovery was too late. Crucially, one person in our party ultimately left without eating because her steak was never cooked properly after two attempts. We expected and paid for precision and attentiveness. Instead, we received delayed service, fundamentally flawed food, and had to endure the uncomfortable necessity of repeatedly complaining. Dean's Italian Steakhouse failed to deliver on its promise, leaving us with a memorable, yet entirely negative, dining experience.
