A wonderful, cozy, and unpretentious experience that captures the true essence of a traditional Aegean taverna! We visited 3 times during our 10-day stay, and we loved it so much that even if we had only one night in Athens, this is exactly where we would go. From the very moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed at the door by our host, Taso Abi. He is an incredibly attentive, pleasant, and delightful person who constantly checks in on both the guests and the service to ensure everything is perfect. All ingredients are exceptionally fresh, and the seafood is mostly seasonal. They do not rely on frozen food, and if a specific item you choose happens to be frozen, they are completely transparent and tell you upfront. The portions are very satisfying and, at times, even quite large. The presentation of the dishes is highly appetizing. Right after being greeted at the door by Taso Abi and guided to our preferred table, we were served a complimentary house-made yogurt and basil meze along with fresh bread before we even placed our order. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. The lemons placed inside the table plates serve as both a lovely decoration and a limitless supply of fresh seasoning during your meal. The atmosphere reflects that cozy, nostalgic taverna vibe we are so fond of from the Aegean region—offering a warm, home-like, and genuinely authentic experience without any unnecessary exaggeration. Operating in a relatively intimate space, this establishment has evidently stood the test of time and delivers that familiar, soulful meyhane experience. The music is kept at just the right volume, creating a perfect backdrop for both the food and deep conversations. With comfortable seating and lighting that allows you to clearly see your meal while maintaining a warm ambiance, you can easily lose track of time. Delivering flavors that went far beyond our expectations, this tavern also stands out as a highly attractive spot due to its very reasonable prices, securing its place among our all-time favorites.
