We paid for a Jr. Suite on Booking.com at $470USD per night. We were provided with a Standard Double Room, valued at $236 USD per night. Upon providing documentation showing the room we actually booked, we got a "free" glass of champagne as an apology. No room change, no refund (3 x nights at $204 per night should have been refunded). Essentially, it felt like we were taken advantage of (and we were). Combine that with experiencing the tall, younger dark-haired server in the restaurant throwing tantrums two days in a row - slamming doors to the outer patio, raging to his co-workers about English guests out there, smashing glasses on the first night and dropping and entire stack of dishes on the second night - the Restaurant, supposedly a Michelin starred facility, served mediocre food at best. The breakfast provided was also the weakest selection and the most medicore taste of any hotel we stayed in Switzerland over the course of three weeks. It is our strongest recommendation that another lodging in Wilderswil be secured for anyone considering this place. The Hotel Baeren right next door has excellent, tasty food, pleasant, accommodating service, and is a tantrum and rip-off-free environment. Service: 1

The experience at Hotel Alpenblick was absolutely amazing and memorable for us. I had planned to propose to my then-girlfriend at Switzerland back in Oct’22 and had wrote to the restaurant in advance to arrange for flowers to be delivered to the restaurant as a surprise (we were traveling from Singapore so I thought it will be difficult to do so). To my delight, the reservation team got back to me very quickly and even recommended me a local florist shop which I can order the flowers from! After the successful proposal at Lauterbrunnen, we were sharing with our photographer about our plans to dine at Alpenblick and by fate or luck, we bumped into the owner of Alpenblick (Yvonne) while walking. She heard about our proposal and plans to dine at her restaurant, and she kindly made special arrangements for us that every evening! My girlfriend and I had multiple surprises for each other that evening at the restaurant which Yvonne and her team took care to make sure both of us were surprised. Needless to say, the food and service were superb and fantastic. Thank you Yvonne and the Alpenblick team for making this such a memorable experience for us. We hope to be back someday to dine at the restaurant again! :)
