I've been trying to find a good take out Chinese spot and haven't been too successful. One of my friends highly recommended eastern paradise so I decided to give it a try. We ordered the noodles with black bean sauce, shrimp fried rice, potstickers and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken was the stand out, the sauce was great. Our least favorite was the noodles with black bean sauce. I was hoping for some chow mein but they didn't have they blatantly on the menu. It's a little expensive too. But all in all, good!
I've been going to Eastern Paradise since around 1977 when I was 8 years old. Back then, it was half the size it is now. Our family would go there after church on Sundays and the occasional midweek treat. We always got the jjajangmyun. When I went away for college this was the first place we would hit on the way home from the airport and the last meal before returning to the mainland. After being away from Hawaii for seven years, we returned last week and this was the first place we hit. Steve, the owner, is still there and still remembers us. We ordered the jjajangmyun, champong, sweet sour pork and spicy fried chicken. Memories of my childhood and all the familiar flavors came rushing back. For me, the food here is the standard by which I judge all other jjajangmyun and champong. I honestly think they have the best hand pulled noodles and the best sauce. I know this is purely subjective but the fact that they have been around for over 40 years at the same location says volumes. We returned here on our last day on Oahu for our last meal before heading to the airport. Every trip to Oahu usually starts and/or finishes here. My kids all love this place as well. Until next time! A hui hou!
My first visit to Eastern Paradise won't be the last.  The food was delicious, and served freshly made especially loved the Mongolian Beef and Spicy Garlic Chicken (which I actually ordered with no spice).  The service was excellent, portions well sized, and everyone helpful and friendly.  The ambiance reminded me of my local Chinese restaurant back  in New York City , a little bit dated but cozy and familiar. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the dishes the other reviewers have enjoyed.
