Food was very good! Loved the chips and salsa. I had some enchiladas and they were delish! Nothing bad to say about this restaurant! Even the restrooms were clean!

Great views, great food, and a great introduction to Austin! If given the option, DEFINITELY sit up on the patio. You'll have a great view of downtown from across the lake, and the lighting, umbrellas, and ambience make for an excellent dining experience. For dinner, we ordered the Queso Blanco, Shrimp & Crab Relleno, and a few drinks. The Avocadarita was pretty strong and came in a healthy serving. It was pretty sweet, and with the el chile rim, the flavor was unique and really good. Queso Blanco was a very thick queso made with strong cheeses that was tasty but quite small. The Shrimp & Crab Relleno was definitely a highlight. The stuffed poblano was a great vehicle for the seafoody taste with a really delicious sauce on top. Surprisingly, the corn bread that came with it was really good. It was pretty thick and had a very savory and balanced flavor overall. El Alma's location and food make a great introduction to Austin and is definitely worth the visit.

This is one of my favorite places to take out-of-town guests. The outdoor dining is great and I love the rock wall inside the restaurant that you walk up to get to their patio tiers. The margarita list has something for everyone, including an avocado marg and a few classics. I highly recommend the queso fundito. You cannot go wrong with chorizo and cheese! They bring it with warm tortillas that are wonderful. Also recommend the tacos, especially the lamb and duck tacos, which you don't often see at other places. They also have the standard taco flavors for more traditional tastes. We have always had very good service and the prices are fair.
