This place is OUTSTANDING. BBQ over a wood charcoal fire. Seating outside and very comfortable. 1 salad, 2 sides, 9 entrees, 5 desserts for a party of 2 adults, 3 teen boys and a tween girl. Really good Fettuccine Alfredo for my daugher...so good she ordered a second one intending to take whatever she didn't finish back to the hotel! Mahi mahi, tuna steak, chicken with chorizo, pork chop, 13/15 count prawns stuffed with garlic-cream cheese and wrapped in bacon and pan finished with spices and olive oil -- all grilled to *perfection.* You get 2 sides with every entree: Veges, buttery, well-seasoned mashed potatoes, rice, guacamole or baked potato. Had all of them except the baked potato, and they were all really good. The owner's BBQ is right out on the street in plain view. The guy is a BBQ MASTER. I never eat pork chops because they are pretty much always dry and always bland. Not this one. Juicy and perfectly seasoned. My son ordered it because he wasn't feeling seafood today. By the time he was done, he was gnawing on the bone and asked to come back before we return home -- even though he was stuffed, his mouth was watering while talking about coming back and ordering it again (but this time with a double dose of the mashed potatoes). They also serve a whole fish (usually red snapper), but you have to call and tell them the day before so the owner can call his friend and have to catch some. We already made reservations for tomorrow night to try it. They also have grilled octopus which you also have to ask about in advance. The prices are very reasonable -- a meal of this quality and quantity in Seattle would cost more than twice as much. Like most people, we love good food. This place has so much of it, I feel bad for small parties because they can't order enough to sample more than a few dishes. Many of the hotel restaurants are good which makes it easy after long day in the sun to eat at the hotel and crash out...But don't. There is no question in my mind that if you are in Zihua, you have to eat at this place. 100% recommended with zero reservations. Enjoy! Kid-friendliness: Great Fettuccine Alfredo. I imagine the other pastas are equally good. Perfect for finicky eaters or kids that are "Mexican food'd out." Just had the most fresh yellowfin tuna ever. Cook made it specifically to my order - medium rare. Silken. Husband had pesto pasta with fish, also delectable! Highly recommend Restaurant El Arrayan! Also, the guitar player was skilled and played a great mix of songs. Hope I get to come back!
