Thank you Restaurant Guru: this was a lucky find, because (I'm a fool and) I don't normally go to restaurants that are completely popular with the locals. Among steak restaurants, this was my number one in Las Palmas.
You should familiarize yourself with the menu *in advance*, and if you are not completely familiar with the terms related to steak, you should use a translator and the internet to familiarize yourself with it. Then you will most certainly get the food portions that suit you. But even if you draw your serving from the menu, you'll still get a world-class steak.
If there are enthusiastic (=loud) local groups eating, the conversation can be really noisy. If you have sensitive ears, try to get the table next to the front door, but it might still be a good idea to bring earplugs...
