The service was timely and courteous, even with a large party. The atmosphere is generic Mexican restaurant type decor. What really lets this place down is the food and how bland it is. Literally, Taco Bell has more flavor in their food. I would not recommend this restaurant. Interestingly, after I left the restaurant a couple of locals, who overheard me talking about particularly unappetizing Mexican food, told me that the same owners have another Mexican restaurant at the other end of town that was much better. Owners of El Metate, for why? Why not have tasty food at all of your restaurants?
