Siena, Jesus, denissa and the staff were great, very helpful, happy and attentive! This hotel is part of the colibri collection of boutique hotels and offers a close-knit feel with most of the amenities of a larger hotel. I stayed in a seafront king from Aug 25-28th. The room was very well air conditioned and had a very romantic, couply feel. Open bathroom and shower design with modern finishes. The food and cocktails were amazing with tons of flavor. About 200-250 pesos per serving size with the bigger lunch and dinner portions being 2 servings. One thing I didn't like were that the "craft" beers were also priced in this range, and frankly, not very good. The location on the beach is great as the mi amor and mezzanine locations are not located directly on the beach. The hotel is also equidistant from the ruins and a main downtown area of the tulum beach front (casa negra). The hotel doesn't provide shuttles and rides were 150 pesos each way for us in either direction to these locations. I won't go to far into the seaweed issue, but it wasn't pleasant. With respect to this I think they could have updated the pool which is a bit old, warm and relatively small. Overall, it was great value imo $150/night breakfast and one massage and champagne bottle included. Not top tier, but a very nice stay because of the people and rooms.
The place is located in the El Pez hotel, making it s perfect beachside spot for a date or just a casual dinner with friends . The hotel itself is a luxury hotel so expect nothing short of fresh chef made seafood here . We drover here as we were spending some time in Tulum area and the place helped us beat the heat and relax by the ocean with a perfect meal. I got the trip of dips and couple of spicy margaritas to start , the dips were great and were served with freshly made homemaker tortilla chips, however hummus and guacamole were not spectacular. I liked the dips and the presentation but not as awesome as I expected . The margarita was great, a little pricey but then it was happy hour when I ordered so definitely worth the Money! We ordered shrimp tacos and the chargrilled octopus for dinner . Shrimp tacos were way too Americanized and didn't feel ethnic or modern either, rather more of the common fare . So I kinda regretted ordering it. I feel like it doesn't need to be in the menu at this place as it kinda doesn't go with the vibe . The octopus though was brilliant ! Worth the dime, shareable for two . Surprisingly it came with sweet potato fries and mayo??!? I didnt feel that the sides went with the octopus , but as i really liked it I am not complaining , I will take any side with that fresh, juicy, perfectly tender octopus ! Worth the visit . But 4 stars and not 5
Incredible experiencr and attention!!
