Come to this restaurant to have a meal if you feel hungry after gazing at Children's Discovery Museum. The menu of Mexican cuisine is to the pleasure of all guests here. You can share tasty chicken fajitas, chicken and grilled beef with your friends and spend a nice time here. The hallmark of El Tequila is serving good ice cream. After a long working week, you can taste delicious tequila, margaritas or liqueur.
This place is good for visitors who have supper in a hurry as they can order dishes as a takeout. Many people underline that the staff is efficient at this spot. Oct 2022: Sadly, El Tequila is now closed. There are a few other Tex-Mex-like places in the Augusta area, but I don't personally recommend them for either food or service.

This place is conveniently located on Western Avenue in Augusta in the same building that was once a Pizza Hut, if I recall. When you walk in it definitely has a Mexican feel to it which is complimented by the Mexican music. We were greeted and sat down pretty fast. The chips and salsa were your typical homemade fried chips along with a salsa that was tasty. My guest and I had ordered Margaritas which came in a very large glass, mucho in size compared to other Mexican restaurants. You could definitely taste the alcohol and was not watered down at all. I had the carne asada tacos which came with cilantro, onion, lime, a habanero sauce, refried beans and Mexican rice. The meat was slightly overcooked, but still had some flavor to it. The rice and refried beans were good. I was happy with it given the size and quantity given for the price. As I write this, this location has permanently shut down and it's unclear as to why.

Food was your average Mexican type stuff - flavor was decent and the server was friendly. The margaritas though were horrible. I’ve been here twice before and each time the margaritas were great so not sure what the problem was this time. Neither my friend or I could come close to finishing them - tasted like tequila over ice with nothing else added.
