I cancelled reservations in route to The Pink Door after disembarking the ferry from Bainbridge. I should have been disciplined to stay the course; but I wanted to feed my appetite of the moment in desire to fulfill my imagination of Seattle seafood on the wharf. In short, dungeons crab was fresh frozen; I've tasted better clams from a can compared to the steam clams ordered; and the rockfish lunch special was perhaps prepared by a chef in training. Regardless of my disappointment understanding business and tourism as a art of distraction, I will be thankful however truthful.
Came here for a family dinner last night and it was great! I love that they have so many different options for oysters on the half shell (at least 12 or more). We ordered a few different varieties and they tasted very fresh! For my entree I ordered the crab legs which were gigantic (If you don't each much, it most likely that you won't be able to finish their portions). The crab tasted great and came with scalloped potatoes and mixed vegetables. I also had a chance to try to calamari and cioppino. The calamari tasted pretty consistent with most other calamari, not anything to write home about. However the cioppino had a big serving of seafood and great flavor! They really don't skimp on the seafood here. There was like half a dungeness crab with a good serving of clams, mussels, and scallops. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here if you are a seafood lover. The prices are little high, but the portions are big and quality is great! I will definitely be returning.
Thank you David for a perfect evening! My friends were visiting. You suggested the perfect oysters with the perfect champagne. Your dinner suggestions were spot on. The suggestion of a Pinot Noir to go with all 4 dinner selections was brilliant. Thanks for making the evening special!
