Always as inviting...Good food, good coffee, good service, wonderful atmosphere...the cafe of my youth in the late 60s, it was called Chic. Was there on my 20th birthday in 1974 and was there now 50 years later on March 1st on my 70th birthday. Etc. David Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I love taking mine with me now two dogs on our annual outings and on the list we have for Gävle, Elsa's café tops the list! Wonderful location easily accessible with beautiful greenery and beautiful surroundings. Their excitingly varied menus, friendly and warm reception make you feel at ease as soon as you step over the threshold. You are greeted with a smile and the best thing is that no breed of dog/cat is welcome, but everyone is equal! Only bad behavior and then it applies to all four-legged and two-legged they don't fit in at warm and pleasant Elsas Coffeeshop. The salads are amazing a personal favorite is the chicken with feta, then the pizzas...they are absolutely amazing Henkes is a must. For the not-so-hungry, there is much else on the menu such as delicious drinks or something simple but classic and what doesn't say that more clearly than a nice evening with friends and some bubbly . So don't forget Elsa's and don't forget that man's best friend is welcome there for a dog biscuit and something else yummy (which according to Buffy it's their tasty pizza edges ). Parking: As it is centrally located and beautiful, you can always stand by the concert hall and take a walk across the river. But usually you can find one just around the corner. Free parking after 19.
