Emily is a must-visit if you're debating the best burger in NYC. If for some reason you don't really get the hype around burgers (because it *is* a thing), Emily definitely does pizza right too. Our group of 4 split 2 Emmy burgers and ordered the Colony pizza and it was a perfect amount of food for lunch. The burger was decadent, oozing with cheese and caramelized onions. Nothing else is needed. The pretzel bun holds up the juicy patty and toppings very well. The Colony was shared as an appetizer so we each got 2 slices. The pickled jalapeños give just enough heat and the honey just enough sweetness. There isn't a whole lot of cheese but I think that would've made the pie too greasy given the pepperoni on the pizza. We made our reservations for a late lunch 2 weeks prior and were glad we did. The Fulton Street location isn't huge and there were folks waiting throughout our seating time.
I've been waiting for this moment to visit and try their burger, But first let's talk about the how clean is it? I was little shocked since I sat in the bar and saw the guy wearing glove in one hand to cut the pizza and add the toppings with the other hand? I know it's rare to use gloves in US kitchens but since he was wearing it at least it should be used properly , second the taste is good, I expected better but the bun is the bew idea of the burger, I would say it's good to try since you're in NYC but for me wouldn't travel for it specifically unless I was in Brooklyn for a reason.
Went there with my friend on a Sunday night, around 7pm. It was busy enough to where we didn't get a table and had to sit at the bar, but at least we didn't have to wait. The place is pretty small. The Emmy burger was amazing honestly, but not worth the $28 price tag. That's the only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5. And I wish there were pickle chips on it instead of the 3 extremely small pickles (shown in my picture) that's on the side. I don't know if I'll be back simply because of the price, but overall the burger was really good!
