Wow! What a great experience here at Evangeline's the food and service was amazing! I had the alligator creole and my wife had the pasta Evangeline with redfish and then we had bread pudding beignets for dessert last night - so delicious. Don't sleep on this gem in the Quarter. Our server Brent was so nice and really took great care of us!!

Food: Excellent Ambiance: Terrific Host: Top Notch Stopped in for dinner early on a Thursday night and had an odd interaction with the bartender.  After hearing from the Owner, I came back to edit this review.  The food was terrific and the staff, other than the one bartender, was all friendly.  There was a fellow working behind the bar who brought me a free drink and apologized for his coworkers' behavior.  Chef CeCe (according to her water bottle) sat down at the end of the bar and was friendly and genuinely interested in whether I had enjoyed the food. I'd happily go back to Evangeline next time I'm through NOLA.  Check out the courtyard if you want to sit outside and make sure you try the Okra or the Crawfish and Grits.

Bret, we are mortified that you had this experience and profusely apologize. We want to assure you we have taken care of this situation and she no longer is with us. This is not the experience we wanted for you at all. We are a family-owned restaurant and work so hard to treat our guests with respect and delicious food and New Orleans hospitality. We would love to invite you back so we can make this right. Again, please accept our deepest apology - we are truly embarrassed by her behavior.

We were in New Orleans for 5 days and ended up in Evangeline 3 times. We wandered in just after arriving mostly because it was across the street from our hotel and we were starving. The food was fabulous. The étouffée and the crawfish po'boy was the best we had  during our stay. The bread pudding dessert was perfect (and I am a bread pudding nut). The cocktails were also excellent. The service (waitress Beth and bartender from Cali) was wonderful. We liked it so much that we planned our large group dinner there for 2 nights later - and it was another great experience. Highly recommend.
