Went here to celebrate while on our honeymoon. We read that Evan's was a must for anyone looking for a quaint fine dining location. The staff was extremely kind and helpful through our dinner. The food was absolutely out of this world. Both of us raved about our food. We'll be back at Evan's next time we're in Lake Tahoe. Perfect for anyone looking for a unique place to dine on a date night.
We came here for a nice dinner out in Tahoe and chose Evan's because of the yelp reviews saying this place is amazing. So maybe it was an off night when we went, or we just ordered wrong, but the hubby and I weren't too impressed. Service seemed lackadaisical. Not rude....just slow. Like ordered a bottle of wine and they poured my husbands glass first? And the waitress only came by once to refill our glasses. We had to refill our own glasses. Not a big deal I guess, but for a white table cloth place, I expected more. Especially since it wasn't busy. I got the venison chops and they were okay. Not much meat on them. The asparagus that came with it was amazing though!! Husband got the salmon mignon special (bacon wrapped lobster stuffed salmon filet). He said it was good, but a little fishy. The hash that came with it he totally loved. Husband had the wild berry chocolate Creme Brûlée for dessert, which was chocolate brushed on top of a graham cracker crust then layered with vanilla Creme Brûlée. Wild berry sauce on the plate. He said it was good. Probably wouldn't come back again. Wasn't that impressed with the service or food. Especially when the waitress brings over a white erase board with the specials on it and sets it on the seat next to you to see. And then the same thing with the desserts. Weird for a nice restaurant.
This place is very cute.  My husband and I came here on our anniversary in September. I ordered the filet mignon and my husband the special of the evening New York steak. I really really enjoyed my filet it was cooked very well and the potatoes were very very good. Only complaint I can give is that my filet had a little piece of wax paper on it. Someone in the kitchen was not paying attention I suppose. Unfortunately my husband did not like his New York steak and it was a bit tough. One other complaint that I had for a very nice romantic type restaurant would be that the specials or handwritten on a dry erase board and put in a seat at your table to be displayed. I did not find that very classy
