Had an amazing experience at FX in Funchal last week and just had to share! This place really hits the mark with its traditional Madeiran food. Not only is everything super delicious, but the prices are pretty reasonable too. It’s like getting a taste of Madeira without getting broke. What really stood out for me, apart from the food, was the atmosphere. The vibe is just incredible, making you feel like you're truly part of the island. Combined with the friendly, quick-to-help staff who really know their stuff when it comes to recommending dishes, it felt super welcoming, almost like being invited to someone’s home for dinner. In addition to trying their espetada and bolo do caco, I got to taste the fresh tuna, succulent picanha among many other dishes. Every dish was a new adventure in flavor, showcasing the best of Madeiran cuisine. Seriously, if you’re in Funchal and looking for some authentic local cuisine, FX is the place to go. Honestly, it was so good that I ended up eating there all 5 days I was in Funchal. Every meal was a hit and it just felt like the perfect spot to really dive into Madeira's culinary scene. Look for Jose Pisa The Ex Hotel Director at Carnival Cruise Lines, He will give you best and excellent service same onboard the cruise ships. enjoy!
