The Clam Chowder was excellent, my wife loved it! I had Prawns and Fish, the prawns were huge and the fish looked greasy but tasted light. The flavors were excellent on everything. No long wait either, Service

FIRST MEAL OF 2020: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR They type of food you order and the location of the restaurant determine the price. Going to a seafood restaurant at Half Moon Bay will be pricier then most places in the Bay Area that aren't located near a shore. What you hope to expect is that you don't overpay for bad quality of food. Last Friday I was at Half Moon Bay. Normally when I go to Half Moon Bay to eat I go to a place that serves fish and chips. After relaxing at the beach and before heading home I came here to eat. There was one item that intrigued me - the swordfish. I knew that ordering the swordfish entrée wouldn't make me full despite the fact this dish costs almost $20. I had to order another dish. Looking at the menu I had a difficult time ordering another dish, but I knew I wasn't going to order another fish dish. I decided to order the fried calamari because I looked at the pictures that revealed a heaping portion of calamari. The charbroiled swordfish arrived. It was flakey and moist. Dipping the swordfish in garlic butter made it more enjoyable. The swordfish here isn't the best I ever had but I enjoyed eating it. The fried calamari served was in a heaping portion as I saw the pictures. The is a balance of legs and rings in the fried calamari. I also like the rings weren't thinly cut. Eating both dishes made me full. The price I paid for both dishes are more expensive than I usually eat at restaurants. At the end the most important thing was if I had a satisfying full meal. Having dinner that Friday at The Fisherman's Taverna I can say I had a fulfilling meal.
