I am impressed. I have a thing for good pizza and this pizza is damn good. It is on the 3rd floor of the International Marketplace right by a ton of other great restaurants if you want something other than damn good pizza, but if that is what you are looking for then this is the spot you need to try out. My wife and I met up with some friends who were visiting the island and had some drinks and dinner. I had a delicious old fashioned to start things off and my wife and I shared some killer poke and a the Mushroom Pizza Bianca. Absolutely delicious. I am looking forward to trying more of their menu on return visits. And I do plan a return visit!! To my Vegas friends there is one on the 9th island as well. Go check it out.
I'm gonna set the scene for you: My wife had booked us a 7-day, 6-night trip to Oahu... with my in-laws. Now, don't get me wrong: I enjoy my extended family and welcome the opportunity to spend time with them. But, I think we can all agree: 7-days straight with the in-laws can be a bit exhausting. So on Day 6, we opted to take our leave from the group and enjoy an exclusive dinner, just man and wife. We didn't have a destination in mind; we just walked around. After half an hour, we made our way through the International Market Place mall, where we saw signs for "Flour & Barley Pizza." It was on the 3rd story, which was far less crowded and seemed to house the nicer restaurants, so we made our way up there. Initially, we were told there'd be a wait of 10-15 minutes... but we were seated almost immediately, as the couple in front of us (apparently) didn't want to be seated directly next to the wood-fire oven. We feared, at first, that the table might get too hot, but the establishment has huge, enormous windows (which border on an open-wall set-up), so the breeze kept us nice and cool. So, if anybody out there is being walked to the tall tables directly next to the oven, I can confirm: the temperature is not a problem. Naturally, the staples of the menu were flour (pizza) and barley (beer). So even though I'd kept dry for most of my vacation, I splurged and went for a nitro-brewed stout at F&B's. It was immensely flavorful, rich, deep, dark, and only got better with every sip. Would highly recommend to any Guinness drinkers who make their way here. My less-adventurous wife went for the Big Apple pizza (aka, pepperoni and cheese), while I loaded up a Gianna. The sausage and shrooms were both familiar friends for me, but the toasted pine nuts were the curveball. I'm happy to report: the combination works flawlessly. And, make no mistake ladies and gentlemen: this is one of the best pizza's you're gonna find outside of the Northeast. Not just Waikiki, not just Oahu, not just Hawaii. But anywhere. Flour & Barley is a player, when it comes to top notch pizza pies. Out of all the new restaurants we tried throughout our trip, THIS will be the place that I insist on coming back to when we return to Oahu. I can't speak to the complainy reviews, pining about the Happy Hour menu and fishing for discounts/freebies, but purely in terms of a sit-down pizzeria, Flour and Barley is (... wait for it) a slice above the competition!
Decent pizza.  Prices are great during happy hour too. I got a pepperoni pizza and they are definitely not stingy with the amount of pepperoni they put on there! I had to pull some off so that the grease from them wouldn't continue to seep into the thin crust. Service was great too!
