Very tasty food. The veggie in the party enjoyed their food too. It's eye wateringly expensive, but that's Iceland for you.
Omg the good is sooo good ! Would have enjoyed meeting the chef !
Wait staff and Bartender Gunner ( conversation for us Americans lol ) made it even more enjoyable !
He even put his Eagles jersey on with tattoo !
I will be back !
Thank you all !
My wife and I are in Reykjavik for just three days en route to Europe. We picked up a restaurant guide in the Hilton in which we found Forrettabarinn. By its description in the guide, we picked it. The Hilton desk clerk told me it was about "a half hour walk, depending on how fast you walk". We walked by dozens of restaurants in the 90 minutes it took us to get there, many of which were in the guide. I really don't know why we kept walking so long, but ----- WOW!!! Our meal was outstanding. Okay, better than outstanding! It was truly gourmet food. Forrettabarinn would be a hit anywhere. It's out of the way, away from the central restaurant hub of downtown Reykjavik, but so worth the effort to get there. Do yourself a favor and eat at Forrettabarinn.
