It's just a great spot. Old school New York Mulberry St. Interesting clientele. Great drinks, and hands down the best fried calamari.

This place is criminally under appreciated. Frankie's is the picturesque Italian restaurant and has amazing food to match. The feeling when you walk in is cozy yet open, and the soft music playing just sets the scene even more. My wife and I enjoyed every bite as you could tell care and pride was put into each dish. Our service was impeccable and Frankie even stopped by our table to chat and wish us well as newlyweds. If we lived in Los Angeles this would absolutely be a place to visit when in the Melrose area. You won't be disappointed!

It's almost impossible to find Clams Oreganata, especially good FRESH Clams Oreganata, anywhere in Los Angeles. I was so happy to see them on the menu at Frankie's On Melrose - in fact Frankie himself was sitting at the bar eating an order, so I knew they'd be good. This place is hands-down the best Italian-American restaurant in the L.A. area. Reminds me of home back east. Do yourself a favor and take a visit. And get the clams!
