This past weekend went on a Chicago Rick Bayless restaurant tour. First restaurant of the tour was Frontera Grill!. Started off right! So this was my first Rick Bayless restaurant and didn't really know what to expect and really didn't know much about him expect he's a white guy that can throw down on some Mexican Food. Trust me he can go up against your authentic Mexican mom or grandma's cooking! This girl knows her Mexican food. My authentic Mexican mom was such a great cook that  I'm super picky when it comes to eating at so called Mexican restaurants. It was Bomb dot com!!! His chips and salsa so much flavor. His Salsa we seriously wanted to take some to go soooo good. I had the Chile relleno. Wow! The cheese filling was Delish. Not sure what was the batter on top but it really good. Make sure you include this restaurant on your must grub down! Book 4 to 6 weeks in advance worth the wait! Very cute restaurant not an empty table in sight. Music was great as well but I'm a sucker for Selena! "Anything for Selenas"!
Came here for the halal options - the carne asada was amazing! And mashed potatoes too. But small portions for the price
Just love this place!!!
