I've been to Fuego Bistro several times now, twice for weekday lunch and once for dinner with the Restaurant Week menu. Their food hits it out of the park every time. As much as I try to deviate, I usually end up ordering a dish that includes their pernil (tacos, platter, etc.) - I can't get enough of this slow-cooked pork goodness, which is served with cabbage slaw and a fantastic mojo sauce. Be sure to request rice as one of your sides - you won't regret it! For drinks, I normally order a glass of the sangria, which is tasty, although it's not always strong from an alcohol perspective. During Restaurant Week, I was also able to taste the empanadas, which were very flavorful, and the ancho chile chocolate torte, which definitely met my chocolate craving. My friends have ordered several other dishes here, including salads (which are enormous), and the chile relleno, all of which went over well. Also of note is Fuego's ambiance, which would be perfect for a date night or dinner with the in-laws. There are only a few tables indoors, but the courtyard is very nice, especially during the mild months, with soft lighting and live music on certain days. Fuego's waiters are always very friendly, whether you are a single diner or a large table. There are only two things I would note, just as a heads-up. Firstly, during lunch, staffing can be limited, so expect a more leisurely pace. Also, parking can be a bit tight (to be expected with the 7th street area) - just something to keep in mind. Those are pretty minor things, though, and Fuego remains one of my favorite little places in the Phoenix area.
Great little spot went there with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised at great food and service. The mole was amazing and the brisket was phenomenal this will definitely be reserved for date night and special occasions
A small but great restaurant. The squash soup ordered for our table was outstanding. The service was slow, but wait staff knowledgeable. It was busy when we were there. The food was first-class, and we all enjoyed the ambiance. We will definitely return!
