Tardy to the party on this one.  Coworker recommended I try this spot out and I've been hitting it up almost every day.   Italian combo sandwich with everything on it (cheese of your choice) is the real deal!  I'm also a fan of their salami sandwich! If you're a plain Jane only wanting to order a ham & cheese, don't bother swinging by. You're wasting your money.   I like that they offer hot dishes and frozen pasta to take home.  Lots of regulars. If you're a first-timer, like me,  be mindful of the system. Take a number when you walk in.  Small tables to eat inside. Great little spot!

Genova Delicatessen's interior decor may benefit from an update, but its nostalgic charm is undeniable. The handcrafted sandwiches showcase a legacy of quality, and as a decades-long patron, I highly recommend their sandwiches, minestrone soup, and clam chowder. However, the lack of an app or online ordering option is a missed opportunity for convenience in today's digital age.

Went in because of sign advertising a chef's special -- "Crab Salad".  Interminable wait.  Ordered a container of crab salad (surimi) which they upselled me to the more expensive "wild crab" option.  Filled with a mayonnaise soup in which floated large celery chunks, and occasional threads of a grey fibrous material that seemed to come out of a can, a very old can because the crab filaments were GRAY!  I didn't bother to taste this dreck and threw it away.  Life is too short.  Shame on Genova and most shame for the "chef" who assembled this POS special. My wife once waited an hour for liverwurst and they sold her an old-looking end piece scrap and did not offer to open a fresh one.  Maybe their sandwiches are ok, but I am never going back after being burned.
