Our newly renovated Gladstone Park Hotel is the entertainment destination of Melbourne’s outer Northern suburbs. The Gladstone Park Hotel is open 7 days a week, with an abundance of food, beverage and entertainment offerings there is something for everyone. Relax in the bistro or unwind in the Garden Bar, whatever your style we’ve a drink and meal to match.
Stopped here for a drink as we were early for the airport. The Garden Bar was a lovely clean area with an enormous television for the sports fans. Great music and quite a nice atmosphere. Lots of tradies for a Friday afternoon but some kids as well.
Ordered the battered fries which was a decent serve compared to most places which was good. The cauliflower fritters were pieces of cooked cauliflower battered and fried, not bad and came with an unusual sauce - sweet yet creamy.
The drinks list is deceiving as there are only 2 wines listed by the glass. Upon asking the guy he said they serve all their wine by the glass??? We ordered 2 pinots which were average and did ask for a new bottle to be opened as I noticed the date on the side and it was 3 days old. He obliged and opened a new bottle which was excellent or we would not have bought any wine.
Would try the bistro if we were early for the airport again but we were here at 4 so neither lunch nor dinner time.
My husband and I visited Gladstone Park Hotel for dinner as we found an offer in the entertainment book. We were delightfully surprised, parking was easy and the venue is nice and clean. We were greeted and served by Nicole who was one of the nicest and friendliest waiters I have had in a while (I feel like she can work in an upmarket restaurant). She seated us, gave us menus, got us water and ordered our drinks. When Nicole took our order she offered other suggestions for sides we may enjoy. It was a wonderful experience. I also noticed her doing the same with other patrons who also seemed impressed and grateful for her wonderful service.
The food was delicious, I had the garlic prawns. The serving was light (which garlic prawns tend to be) so if you are hungry I probably do not recommend this dish. My husband had the steak cooked rare which he enjoyed and found mouth-watering. Being pub style food we found the quality and food above your standard pub and we would be happy to visit this place again if in the area.
