When we first pulled into our neighboring hotel and saw the Glen Canyon Steak House, I squealed with delight that we would definitely be eating here based on the classic sign alone! No steak house can wear a vintage sign of this quality without being the real article, says I! It screams of Mad Men and Old Fashioned and domestic abuse in a wide-bodied Pontiac! I can smell the Roquefort dressing and hollandaise sauce on my father's breath and the waitress' apron like it was 1968 while my mother was in the Nervous Hospital. But after reading so many horrible reviews in a row, I couldn't even bring myself to walk thru the door. Kinda like if you also liked Bill Cosby back in the day this place was popular. You can only hear so many stories of abuse before you have to believe the victims. But gosh-darnit if I won't still leave 3 stars just for that gorgeous sign.
