I attended a birthday event for a friend at the location. The location was a little crowded upon arrival. I found the party for the event as I entered the restaurant and went to sit with them. The server quickly took my drink order. We ordered margaritas and soft drinks. I ate chips, salsa, & black bean dip while we waited for additional guests to arrive for the event. Once everyone arrived (around 12 people) we placed our orders. While chatting amongst each other, our orders arrived after about 25 minutes or so. All of the food looked fresh and delicious. Items such as tamales, salmon, chilaquiles, ceviche, soup, and chicken specials were ordered and served along with sides of rice & beans. I enjoyed my meal and had leftovers as well. I would eat here again. Gloria's Latin Cuisine offered a mixed bag of experiences. The star of the show was definitely the lechon asado. The pork was incredibly flavorful and easily the best part of my meal. They really nailed it with the seasoning and cooking technique. My date's snapper was a bit of a letdown. Ideally, snapper should be flaky and have a mild sweetness. It was tough and chewy, and may have been overcooked. We started with margaritas and pupusas (tortilla pancakes). The margaritas were awesome, the pupusas however, were a bit of a miss. It's possible they were a type of appetizer I'm not familiar with, so next time out, I’m definitely sticking with quesadillas and enchiladas. Overall, I'd recommend Gloria's for the lechon asado, but maybe skip the snapper and pupusas. Of course, it's always possible our snapper was an anomaly, but this place was PACKED and that’s usually a sign they have so much more to offer.
