After watching Swan's Market, have a meal at Golden Lotus. Among other Vegetarian and Vietnamese cuisune places to visit, this restaurant can be one of the best. Come to Golden Lotus to taste good papaya salads, thai rice and thai fried rice. Eating tasty flans, mango sticky rice and cheesecakes is a pleasant experience here. It's nice to order delicious bitter. Visit this place for great thai iced tea, ice tea or moccachino.

My recent visit to Golden Lotus was concerning, to say the least... I've been here twice, and both times raised significant health concerns. On my first visit, I couldn't ignore the sight of a pile of dirty customer bowls being shuffled into the kitchen, rather than being properly cleaned. They were poured into a larger bucket in a way that seemed suspicious and far from standard practice. I chose to overlook it, as one typically might. However, returning a few weeks later, I was disheartened to see the same pot being used to serve new customer plates. The open kitchen layout only made these practices more uncomfortably visible. Having witnessed gutter oil practices (look it up) in China in 2019, I couldn't help but draw unsettling parallels. To compound the disappointment, the staff's attitude left much to be desired. Engaging in arguments and displaying rudeness tends to translate in other areas. I won't be returning to Golden Lotus. For a superior vegan dining experience, I recommend exploring BAIA in San Francisco, Millennium in Berkeley, Blossom Vegan in Pleasanton and Butcher's Son in Berkeley.
