A bit on the expensive side, but it's a unique way to have a burger.
We had just moved back to Austin.  My kids know I love Texas donuts...sorry Portland you don't make good donuts anywhere.  So, back to our Texas brunch where everything is on a donut.  Not your average donut but damn good!  Outdoors is pet- friendly and child proof. Service was great!  Food was really good and different. Gotta try Gourdough's
Gourdough's Public House knows how to take the simple concept of a doughnut and transform it into an entire sweet and savory menu, without compromising the quality of the product one bit. I have tried the Country Clucker, the Ron Burgundy, the Black Betty, and the Granny's Pie. I will start off by saying these are the best doughnuts I've had to this point, and after trying multiple ones since, I'm not sure any will ever surpass them. They have a nice crunch on the exterior and a soft doughy interior. If you're trying to decide between doing sweet or savory, my vote would be go sweet. The savory options were good (the Country Clucker being REALLY good), but the sweet doughnuts are on a whole other level. The Black Betty Donut is a true work of art when it comes to flavor. If you get one thing here, it needs to be the Black Betty Donut!!! Gourdough's is a must try for all doughnut enthusiasts out there! Pro-tip: get ice cream to go along with your sweet donuts!
