We were visiting Matthews, NC, for the first time and enjoyed walking around the historic downtown area on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Walking past the Grace O'Malley's Irish Public House, we thought the venue looked appealing and decided to opt for seating in their nice patio area. Unfortunately, this venue was *EXTREMELY* disappointing. Our server, Anabeth, was very slow and inattentive. The $12 Irish Mule that I ordered was served in a small, flimsy, collapsible plastic cup (filled with more ice than anything else) and the $11 Chardonnay we requested was served in a 9 oz. stemless wine glass that was less that half filled! We'd also ordered the $10.95 "Banger Bites" appetizer to share, but were simply stunned when it was brought to our table... there was one (1) single link sausage cut into four pieces on the plate. WTH?!? My single biggest regret is that we didn't send everything back and walk out. The owner of this venue should be embarrassed to be ripping visitors to the Matthews area off so blatantly. We had planned to order entrees, as well, but happily took our business elsewhere in nearby Mint Hill and recommend others do the same.
