Fish Pakora I like Grandin Fish & Chips. I truly do. But I had two extremely disappointing experiences there. The first one was the result of this poor excuse for Fish Pakora. I have no idea if an Indian provided the recipe but if this pakora made an appearance at a desi wedding reception, a riot might ensue. Desis take their food seriously, and this attempt at a community favourite is insulting. I tried it; my wife tried it; my parents tried it, and we all despised it. It didn't taste anything like fish pakora. Honestly, it was like this nasty bastardization of aloo tiki. And I have no idea why it was served with lettuce. I've had fish pakora from multiple Indian restaurants, and it was never served with lettuce. And it never tasted like this bleak creation. If you can't get an "ethnic" dish right, just let it go. Leave it to the experts; leave it to the minorities that popularized the dish; let them have their shine; it's their culture. Because no one benefits from unadulterated trash like this "fish pakora."
