The place has two sections, a bar and s restaurant, I’m givning five stars for the tapas bar, two for the restaurant.Had a brilliant meal at the bar seated facing the kitchen, got excited and booked the restaurant for the day after but unfortunately had a very disappointing experience there mostly due to severe understaffing and issues arising thereof.Go for the bar and enjoy, skip the restaurant.
First off, I really hope to make it back here one day!My experience started off a little rocky as they did not seem to have my reservation in their book. However, they were still able to seat us thank goodness. The restaurant ran like clockwork. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food came out fast. The table was kept clean and fresh silverware and plates were were seamlessly swapped throughout the night. My boyfriend and I got the 10 course prix fix plus the addition of the egg soufflé ( all the reviews rave about the souffle ), which to be honest was far from my favorite part. It was cooked beautifully, I just didn't think the flavors were as good as the other dishes.Overall the food was very simple but prepared so well - one of my favorite dishes was a prosciutto omelet which sounds ridiculous to eat at a nice restaurant but it had the most perfect consistency of any omelet i've ever had. A few additional notes: the prices were very reasonable; though the table clothes were white it still felt relatively casual which was nice; if you get there early and they are not yet open there is a poke shop a few doors down with cheap canned beer ( we parked ourselves at the bar there while we waited for dinner to start )
Was excited for a delicious dining experience but the whole thing was meh. We have such good restaurants in Portland, OR, maybe I'm just spoiled. We had the small tasting menu. The opener appetizer was a puffed pastry with almost no taste. If you're doing a fixed menu, the opening should wow you. Dessert was the best part. In between the egg soufflé was pretty and tasty but not really anything to write home about. Ditto for the sardine and the fish. The prawns in curry were next best after dessert. Wine by the glass, selected by the wait staff was very good. Service was good.
