I missed out on a trip to Guy Fawkes Arms some months ago but my team at work had been raving about it ever since. So I was pleased finally to be able to go on this occasion. The steak and ale pie is superb - a proper pie (not a casserole with pastry lid) with thick chunks of steak, chunky chips and mixed veg, along with a superlative gravy. The whole was so good, in fact, that I'd be afraid to try anything else in case it isn't as good! At £18.50 it's also very reasonably priced. The pub on the whole has a nice warming atmosphere. The acoustics in the dining area could make it difficult for some to hear everyone on their table, especially if there's another group in close proximity. The car park is a bit on the tight side but manageable. So don't let these trifles stop you from giving this excellent place a try.
