A MICHELIN star: cuisine of great finesse. Worth the step!
Good standard.

One of the best dining experiences in LA. Steak and all the food was better than perfect. What puts them over the edge is the superb service. I went with a group for my birthday. The somm was attentive and gave us amazing off the menu options. When I asked if they had any cardamom for my coffee they found it and added it to my espresso. Other touches are the slim thin wine glasses. They sent me home w a birthday dessert. Over the top perfection.

We've been trying a lot of steakhouses in LA and OC and Gwen is a def standout. We came on a Friday night when they just recently changed up 80% of the menu. I like it when there are seasonal menus. Everything was delicious but the standout items were the charcuterie board, Wagyu flat iron steak and the duck fat potatoes. The wagyu was so good it completely overshadowed the bone in ribeye that would otherwise be a standout on its own any other night. I def recommend sitting in the atrium for better lighting and extra room especially with the longer daylight. The appetizers and sides were a bit small. Cocktail and wine options were good. Valet parking in the garage right behind Gwen for $15 in reduced the usual parking stress in Hollywood.

I got to say, I've been 4 times before this review and I just keep going back! Honestly, the best dry aged steak I've ever had. And I have tried many different cuts. This time around, I went for my 2 month wedding anniversary and we sat at the "chef's table" this time. I was sadly expecting a more "chef's table" experience with a curated menu but you are just sitting at the bar top watching the cold foods chef assemble the cold dishes. Those chairs were not very comfortable. Despite this recent visit, I really do enjoy all the food at this restaurant. I know there will many visits to come. Some photos of the charcuterie board, the beet salad and dry aged prime rib steak polenta.
