Southern Hospitality at its finest! My fiancé and I came to Charleston to celebrate our engagement and our grand finale was Sunday Gospel Brunch at Halls. They did not disappoint! We got there right at opening time and were immediately seated a community table downstairs. Chelsea, our server, was so warm and attentive. She recommended the special which was a 16oz dry aged ribeye and my fiancé didn't hesitate in ordering it. I got the lavender brioche French toast. Both selections were stellar choices. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the French toast was decadent. Stefan checked on us throughout our meal and was so personable in asking how our trip had been and made recommendations for spots to check out next time. Mrs. Hall even came by to say hello and to congratulate us on our engagement. The vibe was warm and friendly, and we felt really special while we were there. As we were leaving, it felt like we were leaving a place we've been to countless times. We can't wait to go back!
One of the fine dining restaurants anyone who is in Charleston must try. Right on the main strip of king street lies this luxurious get away. When you walk in the original halls there is a beautiful ambiance; dark lighting with artistic hunting artwork along the walls. Yes this place is pricey, but I assure you are paying for quality and quantity. My cousin and I enjoyed an amazing meal here. Our fantastic waiters assistant Dan was quick and friendly. In addition, Carly our waitress was knowledgeable about every item on the menu and was very personable. Now to the food!! If you come here you must get the duck for your main course. I repeat... you must get the duck. The meat fell off the bone and was covered in what seemed to be a balsamic glaze. Also, perfectly paired with tomatoes and green beans. Honestly, it was probably one of the top 10 things that has ever touched my taste buds! We also shared she crab soup as a starter. Wishing we got a bowl instead of the cup because it was that good. Chunks of crab. Oh and I forgot to mention fresh warm sour dough bread right out of the oven served at the beginning of the meal. Next, the veal was tender and delicious. As sides... as if we needed more we indulged in the lobster Mac n cheese and shrimp n grits. Both huge sides and very tasty. Our food was accompanied with a nice J Lohr Cab which was around 11$ a glass. Of course you could get very nice wine here as well if that's your thing. Lastly, to top off our meal we ended with Santa's cookies and milk and a cookie skillet with chocolate and caramel sauce on the side. I enjoyed this meal so much and I'm still dreading about the duck. I can't wait to return to try something new! A wonderfully ran restaurant with caring workers. I think 2 or 3 different managers came up to us to ask us how our experience was. Halls thank you for the hospitality. We will see you soon... once I get my next paycheck! Love love love
The Hall’s Chophouse salad is absolutely amazing and the lobster Mac n cheese is out of this world. Of course all the steaks are great, you can’t go wrong with an steak choice.
