My fiancée and I were in Hamburg over Easter for Dance of the Vampires and we ended up at the Veermaster twice. The people there are great, the food is delicious, the prices are not cheap, but reasonable. The bread basket as a starter is highly recommended, the dips are super delicious. But none of the other dishes (Labskaus, salmon in mustard sauce, crab soup, fried goat cheese, Franzbrötchen crumbles...) disappointed us. As a Prussian from the Palatinate with contact with the Rhineland, the cuisine seems to me to be authentically Hamburg. I was with my family in Hamburg on the Kiez and we were recommended the Hamborger Veermaster and it was all top notch, the food was delicious, the service super friendly and courteous and the atmosphere is also great, definitely recommendable. Everything is nice. Must try.
