Amazing Burmese food for amazing prices. This place is a nice little hole in the wall not yet discovered to the masses yet. My new go to spot. Owner is super nice and the food is just as good as the expensive burmese places. My new go to place for burmese grub.
I've never really eaten Burmese food before so this was a nice restaurant to try out for my first experience. I came here on a Sunday evening with two other friends around 6pm and it was not crowded at all. This seems like a nice mom and pop shop where the workers are all family members. We ordered 4 dishes to share among the 3 of us and it was decently portioned so we came out pretty satisfied and full. I honestly have no idea what any of the dishes we ordered were because my friend is more experienced with the Burmese dishes so she ordered everything. Nam Gyi Dok - nice simple dish, chicken was very tender and well seasonedBurmese Style Hot Pot - didn't like this dish too much as I thought it was very simple and a bit bland, probably something you would be able to make at homeMoh-Hingar Noodle Soup - I like this a lot and thought this was unique/I've never tasted anything like it. Every bit has a slight crunch to it so it was delicious. I thought it could've used maybe a little more stronger taste to it but this is probably my favorite dish from the fourParatha - Great choice of appetizer. The dip has bits of chicken in it and it was very easy to eat. Nice crunch in the pancake-like triangles Burmese Iced Milk Tea ($3) - I like this drink but I thought it was bit too creamy for my taste. It definitely is a nice drink addition to the meal as well Overall, this place is pretty decent. They give you a piece of complementary mango pudding at the end of the meal as well as a tamarin hard candy when you pay for the check. I would definitely come back just to try the other dishes and be a bit more adventurous. They also serve hot tea which was nice too! Service can be slow but it is understandable since its a small shop so my friend had to get up and pour her own hot water in the tea. There is also plenty of parking outside!
Parking lot is small. A bit difficult to get to the lot if you're going south on Gellert (have to go past and make a U-turn). Most of the dishes are good. Please note that portions are a smaller than expected.
