10/10 would go here again. Great food with every part of the meal being quality, and friendly staff and nice ambiance to go with it.
Saying this is one of the best restaurants in Fort Myers doesn't really do this place justice. We dine all over the world and Harold's is a new favorite. You MUST go if you have the chance. The reservations fill up, though, so call well in advance.On my first visit I was impressed by the versatility of the chef. We had the sous-vide beef ribs and the fish over a mushroom risotto. Let me stop for a moment and repeat that... Sous-vide beef ribs? We all love beef ribs because they are tender and slow cooked and have a deep rich flavor, but sous-vide makes them cut like butter, but NOT stringy, more like the most delicate filet ever, while still preserving some of the richness we associate with them. Further, the fish was served with a vegetable relish with such intense layering of flavors - bright, sweet and savory - that each bite revealed another level.I had to come back. Last Saturday, the menu was almost entirely different, except for several regular dishes. I had the flash fried octopus as an appetizer. Without question, one of the most inventive iterations of this dish. The meat was finely sliced which eliminated any of the chewyness or pastiness that you often get with Octopi. The lemony saffron sauce, which was an homage to hollandaise without the fat, combined with a tart tomato olive melange, was other-worldly. So was the duck breast with cranberry risotto, and the Sous-vide Lamb!
