Hellbender is a very warm and welcoming place with laid-back and personable staff. It’s a very relaxing place to spend a few hours on a weekday evening while sipping a tasty beer. I like their drinks because they’ve resisted the “fruity-pebbles IPA” trend that seems to have afflicted a lot of breweries over the past couple years. Everything they make is smooth, drinkable and original. Wednesday open mic night draws some really talented musicians thanks to neighboring Takoma Park.

Hellbender Brewing Company is one of my favorite places in DC. Tonight they delivered beer to my door. When Covid-19 allows tours - take one at Hellbender - the innovations by the brewmaster are amazing. AND the beer - hooray! Something for every palate! Drink local and support local businesses! them (patio opens this weekend!)
