We arrived with soaking wet boots and feet after a 14 mile walk in the rain and were told to remove our boots and leave them in the hallway. There was no heating on and they were not going to get dry without being put in the drying room that was advertised on the information. After asking Glenn about this he said he would put them on the boiler and when we asked if he had any newspaper to put inside them he said it wasn't necessary. Everywhere else we have been the hosts have offered this as standard. In the morning when we were leaving we found the boots back in the hallway still soaking wet and cold to put on for our walk that day. Glenn said they had been on the boiler but we asked him if the boiler had been on. He said we would never be satisfied with anything. We were in such a rush to get out of the place we forgot to take the sandwich we had ordered. The room was nice but we were not made to feel welcome.
It was busy when we came in but still got a lovely seat beside a window, surrounded by paintings by local artists which was a nice touch and will probably be back to get some postcards!
We ordered some sandwiches and hot drinks and they came really quick and were lovely portions.
The man serving us was very friendly and was chatting to us at the end of our lunch about our stay in the local area which made us feel very welcome.
Overall, a great experience and a nice getaway from the rain.
Good clean old fashioned b&b
