Outstanding sub shop! As a native Austinite I've been loyal to Thundercloud but this place is incredible. I tried the Italian but going to be doing a couple of laps around their entire menu. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hoody's Subs is the best sub shop in Austin. I've been eating there for years and have never had a bad or inconsistent sandwich there. Mr. Hood has been serving me sandwiches since I was in high school a million years ago and he's so nice and outgoing. His staff is always upbeat too, and that speaks volumes about what kind of shop he runs. The food is top quality, too. The Special is my favorite, followed by the cheesesteak, which probably really is my favorite but there's no clean way to eat it - it's all meat and cheese and goodness. I'm hungry for one now. 10/10, you can't go wrong eating at Hoody's, and be sure to say hi to Mr. Hood.
