I had no idea of the beautiful dining experience this restaurant has been serving for years! "Hostaria del Monte Croce" offers a monthly fixed menu from 7 to 11, the portions are very generous and the number of plates included in their menu are kind of "cerimonial" (I'm from Napoli and there we eat this much during weddings, communions or festivities).As we didn't know about this, we showed up at the restaurant at 9pm and we have still been able to eat a part of their menu for a lower price.The flavour of their food is traditionally Italian and the cooking standards are quite high (despite the rustic appearance the restaurant gives).We started with bruschette and house red wine and were immediately hooked from their great flavour.Then we had "spaghetti AOP all'ischitana", the pasta was properly cooked al dente and was very tasty.The tagliata di carne was also very good (probably missed a bit of salt but it didn't matter that much).We ended our meal with a delicious raspberry dessert, with coffe and limoncello (which definitely tasted home-made, probably a bit more sugary than what my nonna does though).I also really liked the "hidden" location of this restaurant and its decoration, it made me feel as if I was having a little holiday dinner somewhere in Italy.Will definitely visit again!
