I was very disappointed in the Gatewood. First, the food: I ordered the scallops. with risotto, and specifically asked if they were sea scallops (the larger ones). Wait staff asked and confirmed. The dish was exceptionally salty, the scallops small and a bit overcooked, and the risotto a gummy mess. Then the service: the dining room was almost empty, but wait staff struggled to provide service. (They appeared to be new at the job.). Someone.... the manager?... came to the table and suggested we use the QR code and we said firmly no way. At those inflated prices? I will never goo there again!

I had a very disappointing experience at House of Gatewood. I ordered a steak cooked medium, but it arrived well done. Because ordering is done via a QR code on a phone, I had to search for a staff member to address the issue. The owner came to our table and informed me that a replacement would take some time, which I said was fine. However, after waiting approximately 30 minutes, the steak arrived. By that point, the rest of my party was ready to leave, so I asked for the meal to be boxed. The owner responded that steaks take a while to cook. I explained that a medium steak should not require a 30-minute wait. He then made an inappropriate comment asking if I wanted to cook it myself in the kitchen. I declined and again requested a box. As I was leaving, I overheard the owner speaking to staff and making a disparaging remark about me. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. It is not an appropriate way to treat customers or to run a business.
