Yesterday, my family and I decided to have dinner at the hungry traveler. I wanted to Have Only the salad bar. It was going to cost me $22. The salad bar is very basic and doesn’t have anything special added to it. There were also two soups to choose from. We have been going to this restaurant often on for decades, but I have never seen things as pricey as they are now. I used to be able to get entrée and it came with the salad. if I want just a salad the price of sky high. They make you buy an entrée in order to get the salad bar for $11. That is still outrageous. Anyway, I ordered the nachos and they were just horrible. The chips were cooked too much. The entire dish was dry. It was poorly made. There was hardly any hamburger on it and it was completely undesirable. I am very upset with my experience at Hungry Traveler. I cannot end this review without saying that our waitress was amazing. I wish I remembered her name so that I could give her a credit. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Party of 6 last night - took forever to be waited on. 2 and a half hours in total for entire meal. Room all the way to the left was FREEZING. Food great but lack of adequate waitstaff was evident. Didn't like the 20% gratuity added to our bill for mediocre service. All in all a disappointing experience. Will give the place another shot but not this year.
