Great atmosphere, cute coffee shop with amazing quality food
Great coffee and atmosphere
It never fails to surprise me how spoilt we are for choice of coffee shops and restaurants in Cape Town. I am currently discovering Newlands and have yet to be disappointed. This morning I felt like breakfast and stopped in at Hazz but walked out after discovering they only have pre-packed sandwiches and wraps. Then I discovered Importers and boy am I pleased. I was warmly welcomed and quickly seated in a cozy corner amid a buzzing crowd chatting and working on electronic devices. The coffee came promptly and was really good, strong and rich in flavour, much better than any off the shelf Importers coffee I have had before. The scrambled eggs on rye with bacon came in a reasonable time and was a generous portion. The bacon was a bit cold but the eggs were good and the rye was a good choice. And so was the second cappuccino! The dim interior gets some natural light from the street side windows and the small courtyard. It is clear why this place is so busy and surprising that it has received some bad reviews. All I can say is give it a second chance if you did have a bad experience. I can't believe you will be disappointed again.
