This review is for the restaurant  now rebranded as the Bamboo Garden. As an FYI, they charge a mandatory 21% gratuity for a party of 5 or more. We were told that this is per 'Texas laws'; when we questioned them about it.

3 stars is being generous....the food was nothing special.  We got a noodle dish that was supposed to have vegetables.   There were enough veggies to make a decent garnish and the noodles were overcooked.  We did the upcharge for all white meat on the General Taos Chicken.  It is sliced thighs, not breast meat.  The texture of the meat was weird and the dish had very little flavor.  I won't order from here again.

This is the first, the FIRST Indian/desi restaurant I have visited in Austin that was popping! Like it was actually busy and we even had to wait for a table (for 5-10 min thankfully). My biggest gripe here is going to Indian restaurants here that are completely empty and the food is so mediocre but expensive. Thankfully this was not the case here! The ambience was lively and portion sizes were appropriate for the price (maybe not the momos though, 9$ for 3??) I was craving some indo-Chinese fusion food and this place was pretty good for that. The wings of heaven were good, I wish they had a bit more spice (chatpata vibes) so could have used a little bit more tangy/spicy flavor. The sauces on the side were a nice touch and I'm so glad we ended up asking for them because they didn't give them on the table. They really made a difference for our food, especially the kung pao chicken which was more like the traditional Chinese take out type so not spicy at all but good! We got the triple fried schwezan rice/noodle which was delicious as well and totally not spicy for the 3 chilies next to it. My spice tolerance isn't that huge so I definitely recommend it. We ended the night with ras malai which was just okay. I still want to come back for the vibe and to try out other items from the menu!
