After visiting Museum of Asian Art, you may have a meal at this restaurant. At Indigenous Restaurant, guests may have tasty venison, bisque and parmesan. Nicely cooked beignets, coconut ice cream and chocolate cakes can make a strong impression on you.

The wine list is extensive, every visitor can find something that suits their taste. Delicious chocolate frappe, thai tea or white tea are among the most often ordered drinks at this place. Most reviewers consider the staff knowledgeable. This spot is remarkable for its fabulous service. Here you will pay low prices. There is a peaceful atmosphere and divine decor at this restaurant. But Indigenous Restaurant has been rated below average by Zomato users.

A hidden gem! Pork belly is spectacular! Great ambiance and impeccable service. Place is a must! Compliments to the chef!  Had the grouper and it amazing.
Went there for my birthday in early July. Wanted to love it but it came up short. First, the good. The fish -- Cobia -- was perfectly cooked. Loved it. Now the less than ideal. The table was in a very dark room (I couldn't read the menu) and it was freezing. My husband was parking the car, so after several minutes I decided I needed another table. Went to the hostess and asked for a different location and explained why. She gave the nastiest look and no reply when another hostess finally offered a different table. Dinner was okay. As I said, the fish was cooked to perfection. But it was very bland and it was served over angel hair pasta. White fish on white pasta? Did not work for me. The color, textures and tastes were unappealing. Finally dessert -- skipped altogether. The choices were overly sweet and not appealing. Finally, when my husband made the reservation, he said it was my birthday (a big one). Absolutely no mention during the dinner. Wasn't expecting anything major, but a recognition would have need appreciated. Overall, a blah experience. May go back sometime but it's not high on my list.
A real pearl tucked away in Sarasota, hidden but worth discovering.  We have often dined at Indigenous and we decided to try their sandwich night.  This evening it was Duck Confit Everything Bagel, Bing Cherry Caramelized Shallot Cream Cheese, Arugula, Crispy Beet and Pecan salad and a glass of Pinot Noir - We shared the beignets as appetizer.  Every morsel was delicious and showed the dedication Chef Steve has to culinary perfection.   Our waiter Matthew was attentive and personable...the only negative to the 5 star experience, was being seated in the Terrace right behind the reception desk  We arrived at 6 o'clock and were finished with dinner at 7:30...we watched diners arrive and all (no exceptions) were accompanied either to the side patio or to the inside dining room...we sat alone in what, after awhile, we considered the 'Indigenous Tundra'.  When we dine out it is not just for the food but also for the whole dining experience...sitting alone with empty tables around you, for one and a half hours, is a bit disappointing.
